The Anointing of the Sick is the sacrament for those with serious illness (all ages), those facing surgery (all ages), and the elderly. The Sacrament can be administered more than once in a person's lifetime. A person who has been annointed may recover but then experience a new or worsening condition, That person may receive the Sacrament again. The Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick can only be administered by a Priest. If you or a loved one are experiencing serious illness, facing a surgery or other dangerous medical treatment; if you are advancing in age or have become frail in mind and/or body, please call the Parish Office (740) 453-0597 to schedule an appointment with a Priest or to arrange a home visit.
"The Anointing of the Sick "is not a sacrament for those only who are at the point of death. Hence, as soon as anyone of the faith begins to be in danger of death from sickness or old age, the fitting time for him to receive this sacrament has certainly already arrived."
